The Finger Lakes Wildlife Hotline is a collaborative effort of several Upstate NY, DEC licensed wildlife rescue volunteers and organizations, working together to provide the community with an easier method of finding help during wildlife emergencies.
With one central number, finders of orphaned or injured wildlife can call in and be routed to rehabbers by the species they specialize in and closest local area, saving them the time and effort of hunting down individual organization numbers and having to call several places to access help. This will also save time for wildlife rescue workers, who often spend a great deal of time on the phone trying to help find placement for animals they aren’t trained or licensed for, or that are too far out of their area.
Please take note of the phone number should you ever need it, and share it around to help us spread the word!
Currently, this initiative is being funded by the wildlife rehabbers who participate in the line, and community support is appreciated. If you’d like to support our efforts, there are donations links available on the main hotline website.
Thank you!
